Google Sheets
The Google Sheets page has two tabs:
- Export orders writes each new order to a sheet you own. It is included from the Starter plan up.
- Import orders turns new rows in a sheet into Zimam orders. It is included in the Growth, Pro and Enterprise plans.
On a plan without the tab, it shows Locked with an Upgrade button. See Subscription and billing.
To open the page, open Connected Platforms in the dashboard sidebar and click the Google Sheets card.
Use a different spreadsheet for import and export. Both read and write the spreadsheet's first sheet, and export setup replaces row 1, which import reads as its header row.
Both tabs work through a Google Apps Script that you paste into your own spreadsheet. Zimam does not ask for access to your Google account.
Export orders
Zimam writes a row when an order is placed: from your storefront, from a draft the customer completes, from an order you or a call center agent create as placed, or from a connected platform. Abandoned orders are not exported. Orders placed before you turned export on are not added.
Set up export
On the Export orders tab, follow the numbered sections:
- 1. Activate: set the status to Activated. Deactivated pauses the export and keeps your settings.
- 2. Sheet name: enter a name for your own reference.
- 3. Columns: for each of the 11 positions, choose what it holds, in the same order as the headers in your sheet: Date and time, Product, SKU, Quantity, Total, Client name, Phone number, City, State, Commune, Delivery type, or Empty for a blank column.
- 4. Generate script: click Generate & Copy Code. The script is copied to your clipboard. In your spreadsheet, open the Apps Script editor, paste the whole script into
code.gs, and deploy it as a web app. - 5. Connect URL: paste the web app URL into URL. It must start with
https://script.google.com/macros/s/. - 6. Setup & Verify: click Setup Headers. This checks the connection and writes your column headers to row 1.
- Click Save.
How rows are written
- Each order is one row, and the script skips an order that is already in the sheet, so an order is never written twice.
- The script keeps the order ID in a hidden column after your columns. Do not delete it.
- Changing the columns and clicking Setup Headers again rewrites row 1 in place.
- If Setup Headers fails, check that you pasted the URL of the latest web app deployment, not the script editor URL, and that the deployment's access is set to anyone.
Import orders
Each new row in your sheet becomes an order in Orders with the status Pending. Row 1 must hold your headers.
Set up import
On the Import orders tab:
- In Paste your sheet's header row, paste row 1 of your sheet with the headers separated by commas, then click Detect columns.
- Check the column letters (A, B, C...) Zimam suggests, and correct any of them. Customer name column and Phone column are required. Wilaya column, Commune column, Address column, Product column, Quantity column, Price column and Note column are optional.
- To have Zimam write each order's delivery status back to your sheet, set the Status write-back column.
- Click Save.
- Under Your setup script, click Copy script.
- In your spreadsheet, open Extensions, Apps Script, and paste the script.
- Run the
installfunction once and approve the permissions Google asks for. This sets up the triggers the script needs. - Click Deploy, New deployment, choose Web app, set Who has access to Anyone, and deploy.
- For status write-back, paste the web app URL into Deployed script URL in Zimam and save.
What becomes an order
- The script sends a row when a row is inserted into the sheet or when a linked Google Form adds one. Editing an existing row does not send it again.
- A row is sent once. Sending the same row again does not create a second order.
- If the Product column value matches one of your product SKUs, the line is linked to that product. Otherwise the order keeps the text from the sheet.
- Imported orders follow the rules for orders from connected platforms: they do not count toward your monthly order allowance. See Sales channels.
The Import tab carries a May miss orders notice: the sheet sends each row once, and Zimam has no way to fetch a row that did not arrive. Compare your sheet against Orders regularly.
